This Sunday night we'll watch a recent production from the Apologetics Team at Kenmore Baptist Church: Is the Church Relevant? This message is based in part on recently presented the "Australian Communities Report" by Mark McCrindle. The report examined some findings about major blockers to Australians believing in Christianity. What is interesting is that of the top 10 blockers, seven are not about the message. They’re about us, the delivery mechanism, the church.

We'll we're tracking our way through the letter of 1 Corinthians! We've heard about keeping unity in the church, demonstrating maturity, and that both singleness and marriage can be honouring to God.
In the next few week's we'll hear from the following members of our congregation what God has shown them through this letter:
18 March - Olivia Hussey, Chapter 6
25 March - Ian Hussey, Chapter 8
1 April - Lyndell Simpson, Chapter 13
15 April - Joe Kremor, Chapter 11
22 April - Shannon Smith, Chapter 12

This year, the good people at North-East Baptist bought of $6000 worth of "Useful Gifts" from TEAR Australia! All those goats, mozzie nets, toilets, pigs, school supplies.... (you get the picture), will make a world of difference in the lives of people in developing nations.
Good work everyone!

This Sunday, 6 November, Enthuse will run a bit differently to a normal service. Instead, of the usual format, they will be screening the beginning of a debate, based on the arguments put forward in the book “The God Delusion” by Richard Dawkins. Well respected fellow Oxford lecturer, John Lennox will refute Dawkins’ assertions and in doing so, equip Christians to give a clear defence to the arguments put forward by the atheist apologetic movement. |
